- Akira Hokuto beat Madusa Miceli to win the title and became the first - and only - WCW Women's Champion....
The championship lasted from 1996 until 1997, when the last defense of the title occurred at The Great American Bash
on June 15, 1997 when Hokuto beat Madusa in a match where the championship was at stake in addition to Madusa's career.
Madusa retired and Hokuto went back to Japan and the title was then abandoned.
